Account Stealing & Title Loss
I have had a few online friends who have had their accounts hijacked, and their characters wiped. While they have either managed to get their accounts back or had Anet give them back once it was confirmed the account is theirs, Anet has been unable to return the lost characters.
The only thing that is saved from all the hard work that was done is the titles that are account wide.
There has been some debate as to letting some titles that are not currently account wide be moved to that. I would like to forward the notion that two should be, as they involve an extraordinary amount of time, effort and money to gain.
These would be the Treasure Hunter and Wisdom titles.
While I do agree that it is sensible they are on one character purely due to the id and chest finding being done by the one charcter, I think that the lose of the character that has this title is devastating, since its not easy to get back to a high level, especially as your resources are wiped out. Other titles are relatively quick to get in comparison, even the reputation ones.
Therefore I suggest these two titles are moved into account based as it will help those that lose their characters through no fault of their own.

Alternately, you could be more secure with your account information. Solves several problems right there.
Ways to be more secure:- Don't download random stuff
- Don't use the same password for everything
- Don't give your information to questionable sites

Since there's already thread on this issue, and even though I support the OP, this is the real thing you should be worried about.

I like this idea, and would love the option to add this feature. Not sure how difficult it would be to code, but it would be a nice option.
As for the security thread, this is the most recent one I've seen here:

This is exactly what I was going to say.
Don't be a dumbass about your account info and you'll be fine.

I'd really like a 'Lock Character' option.

mind if I make that into an official proposal? Or you do it? Because that would be fairly simple, and I'm sure it would get a huge amount of support, since it is optional.
/signed for the lock thing.

As much as i agree with Curse You, I just don;t think you can stop stupid people from doing stupid things.
This is a suggestion simply to look at a priviously suggested improvemnt for those not smart enough to ensure safety of their account. I'm sure many would claim to have followed safe protocols though.
Locking characters would be nice too.

And what about making all non-account based tiles linked to the profession instead of the character?
Since in GW we don't have re-rollable builds, it doesn't matter the development of the character, only the primary profession.

Careful, that's almost spamming or advertising.
Lock is a good idea. I personally would like those title mentioned to be account based, but that's mostly cause I'm lazy.

Yeh, but if you're worried about account being stolen then protecting against keyloggers is a high priority, and BitDefender is the top publicly available antivirus, so it's more a statement of fact than advertising. And it's relevant to the topic, so it is not spam.

This calls for a character registration !
somekind of NPC registra that will record your character's progress.
beside that, just be very careful of phishing/scam and such.

There are numerous threads already discussing changing those titles to account based. There are links provided in some of the posts above.
